If you decide to employ the services of our honeymoon specialists there is a deposit of $75.00 per person which is applied to the cost of your honeymoon. For Destination Weddings and very involved itineraries additional fees may apply.

• What is a honeymoon registry and how does it work ?
  Times have changed and so has the way couples are registering for wedding gifts. Couples today are seeking out careers first and marriage second. The average age couples marry is between 28-38 years. Since many couples are established in their homes, traditional wedding gifts such as china or a place setting is not always what a couple needs. The alternative to a store registry is a Honeymoon Gift Registry. The honeymoon registry is designed for friends and family to purchase a ‘portion’ of your honeymoon as their wedding gift or even a shower gift. • What types of gifts can we receive from our registry?
  Anything you wish! How about a romantic dinner on the beach, a sunset sail for two, a couple’s massage on your private verandah, or a champagne breakfast? Gifts can range from accommodations, airfare, dinners, excursions and more. The choice is yours.
  
  
• What does a honeymoon registry look like?
  The best way to find out what the gift registry looks like is to check out some sample registries. This will allow you to see how the honeymoon is broken down into gift items that your friends and family can purchase for you as a shower or wedding gift. Gift items can range from spa treatments to dinners or money towards your hotel stay.
  
  
• How do we let our guests know about our registry?
  This is one of the most important aspects of a successful registry: getting the word out! Relying on 'word-of-mouth' does not work well according to our statistics.  To ensure your guests are aware of your registry, we include 100 announcement cards.  The cards are personalized and printed on a lovely linen stock paper. No post cards here. We handle the mailing, postage included.  The cards invite guests to visit your personal web page or to call our toll-free number to purchase a piece of your dream honeymoon. In addition: we include 50 announcement inserts that can be placed in a shower invitation.
  
  
• Can we add a personal photo to our page?
  Yes, not only can you add a photo to your web page but you can also include a personal note to your guests. Tell them how you met, how the question was popped or why you chose your honeymoon destination. Invite your guests to be a part of this exciting time in your life by giving the page your own style and personality.
  
  
• How much does a registry cost?
  You pay a one-time set-up fee of $150* except during special offers. This includes creating and customizing your gift registry web page. Our registry is not self-service. We create the registry for you so you don't have to do the work!  We provide a username and password for you to access your gifts at anytime. The gift list is itemized and includes the name of the gift purchaser, the gift item and a personal note.  Having a summary of your gifts is perfect for sending out your Thank You cards. 
    *The $150 fee is charged at the time the registry is created.  After the registry has been completed, the $150 is non-refundable. You can advise us at anytime if you would changes made to the registry. If it is a change of destination and a new registry needs to be created, an additional fee of $75.00 will apply.
  Please note we do not deduct any monies from your gifts as some companies do. You will receive 100% of the amount of gifts you receive.  This is our guarantee to you.

• Are there any other fees?
  
There is a nominal service and handling fee of 9% which is added to the gift amount. Example: a $50 gift including the 9% comes to $54.50.  This is an administrative fee which allows your guests to access our toll-free number to purchase gifts, maintain your web page, and gives your guests the ability to send you an e-card. Guests love the process! They don't have to go to a store or pay for tax, delivery, or gift wrapping.


• How do our guests purchase a gift?
  Simple! There are two ways to purchase a gift. They can go directly to the Distinctive Honeymoon website and purchase a gift by typing in your last name—or if your guest does not have access to a computer, they can call our toll-free number, Monday - Friday, 9:30-5:30 EST.
  
  
• How do we receive our gifts?
  A check will be sent to you two weeks prior to your honeymoon date for the full amount of the gifts received. A final check will be sent to you when your registry is closed, which is 2 weeks after the honeymoon date. You may request a check anytime prior to 2 weeks before your honeymoon, provided there are gifts in your registry. Checks requested within two weeks of your honeymoon will incur an additional charge for overnight mail.
  
  
• What if my guest lives in another country?
  Whether your guests are in England or China, a gift can be purchased for you from anywhere in the world – literally!
  
  
• How do we know when a gift has been purchased?
  Each time a gift is purchased you will immediately receive a beautiful e-card. The e-card will provide the name of the person who purchased the gift, the gift item and a personal note from your guest.
  
  
• Is there a way to keep track of the gifts I receive?
  With so many details involved in planning a wedding we know it’s important to be organized! To make life easier when sending out thank you cards, you will be able to access your gift information with the username and password we provide. The summary includes the date, name of guest, gift, and a personal message.
  
  
• How long can I keep my registry active?
  Most couples like to keep their registries open for at least 2 weeks after their honeymoon date for last minute purchases.
  
  
• Are there any etiquette concerns to think about, regarding registries?

• Can I use the registry for a wedding shower?
  Absolutely. In fact, many couples choose to have their honeymoon registry for both their shower and wedding. This is true especially for couples who do not need another toaster!  It gives you the opportunity to receive two gifts towards your honeymoon, allowing you to take your dream trip. That could mean upgrading from a deluxe room to a suite.
  
  
• Is the site secure?
  Yes, your guests can be confident when purchasing a gift online with a credit card, as our website is secured by GEOTRUST. If your guest does not feel comfortable purchasing a gift online they are welcome to call our toll free number at 800-803-1360.
